Eat the Night by Jayne Tuttle
Eat the Night is a series of photographs by visual artist/actor/writer/musician Jayne Tuttle. The photographs are of collages created as support for her play Alice Eat the Night Violet, which was written and performed in Paris in 2007.
The play – itself a collage of images – was inspired by the works, which use photography to create collage, which is then itself photographed and further distorted. This process of reshaping and reimagining allows Jayne to play with perspective and time, and it also helps bring out the strangeness and other-worldliness in the images, something that became important in the play.
The Australian debut of Alice Eat the Night Violet is scheduled for late 2010.

The Art of Fashion
Designed by new kids on the block Hammocks and Honey, and painstakingly crafted by accessory label PHILOS-o-FACE, the sculptural pieces featured in The Art of Fashion straddle the art, craft and fashion trajectory in a unique, and kind of creepy, way.
Using repetition to engage with the tensions between mechanical reproduction and the post GFC preoccupation with the handmade, the work also plays with ideas of fan culture, image saturation and memorabilia while challenging the once static categories of wearable jewellery and art object. This is the first in a series of collaborations between the label and band.
